Hello Fellow Bluff Park Residents,

Nearly eight years ago, in August of 2006, I created BluffParkAL.org, thanks to the idea given to me by Ben Shelton. You can read the history of the site here.

In those eight years, we've accomplished much by working with local and state governments and their representatives.

Members of the Hoover City Council and Hoover employees have always been a constant source of support and help. We've also had support and help from a member of the state government, State Rep. Paul DeMarco.

Paul has been a steadfast supporter of the Bluff Park community since our web site's founding. He's been a nearly every meeting we've held, as well as providing support behind the scenes for other Bluff Park and Hoover causes.

When it came to things that affected Bluff Park and Hoover directly, such as roads, drug education, school bus issues, and other educational items, Paul was always there.

Here's the thing that I found most interesting: You didn't have to invite Paul to the meetings. He was aware of them and was there. Like a member of the community.

Back in 2006 I thought that Paul would someday make a refreshing change in Washington someday. He would not be like the rest of the politicians up there. Well that someday is now.

Next Tuesday Paul is in a runoff race for the 6th District Congressional seat.

BluffParkAL.org does not usually endorse a candidate for office. We're making an exception here because Paul DeMarco is not just a candidate for office, he's a friend of Bluff Park community, and what better candidate than a friend.

I always brag to everyone that I speak to about Bluff Park that we have one of the best voter turnout rates in the city of Hoover. That wasn't quite the case in the June 3 primary. We came in a distant 2nd for Hoover. This time, let's show the rest of the city what Bluff Park is all about.

Get to the polls on July 15 and vote for a candidate who has always been a friend of the community.

Vote for Paul DeMarco for Congress!  And contact and encourage your friends in the 6th District to do the same.
